Reno, Nevada, USA – Solati Health, a leading company specializing in amputee health and prosthetic products, today announced it has completed the merger of Custom Silicone Fabrication of San Francisco (CSF2), a company with 40 years of experience in developing custom silicone products for amputees and innovative prosthetic solutions.
Globally, more than 1 million annual limb amputations occur every year. This is equivalent to one amputation every 30 seconds, and is expected to grow dramatically with the increase of diabetes from 285 million to reach 435 million by 2030. The addition of CSF2 will enable Solati to improve the quality of life of more amputees as it will be the foundation of Solati’s Interface Liners and fabrication capabilities. As “off the shelf” or “one size fits all” liners are not the answer for everyone, the merger will enable Solati to expand its line of prosthetic products and technologies to cater to the specific needs of amputees and practitioners.
Wayne Koniuk, C.P., who started CSF2 after more than 40 years in the O&P industry will lead fabrication services and new product development at Solati. Koniuk, C.P., has treated more than 10,000 patients with creative and innovative solutions to their limb losses and injuries. He was also a recipient of the “Clinical Creativity Award” from the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (AAOP), acknowledging his work in providing highly-functional prostheses for patients and for his unstinting sharing with other professionals of the new techniques and materials he has developed over the years.
